Message summary: ...a period of accumulating snow is expected this evening across northeast connecticut, rhode island and southeast massachusetts...
Light snow will overspread the region between 5 and 8 pm, with a period of moderate snowfall this evening, especially near the south coast. Given the cold temperatures, untreated roads will become snow covered and slippery which may impact the latter part of the evening commute. Snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected with the highest amounts near the south coast, including cape cod where there is a low risk for localized accumulations up to 4 inches. Motorists are advised to use caution this evening.
